Mini-mooning – West Coast, NZ

A little less than a week after our wedding, my husband David and I were supposed to leave for our honeymoon to Tonga. About six hours before we were supposed to fly out David caught a nasty gastro bug that was going around. There was NO way he was going anywhere!! After a couple of days for him to recover, we decided to get away for a couple of nights and explored the West Coast of this gorgeous country. It wasn’t quite relaxing in the sun on the beach, but it was a lovely break away.

Here are some of the sights we saw.

Heading through Arthurs Pass there was a beautiful hoar frost. I just had to stop and take some photos.

After a night at Franz Josef we drove into Lake Matheson and walked around it. Managed to finish the walk just as the rain started pelting down.

Good old Kiwi traffic jam 🙂2015-10-27_0017

The final day before we headed home we drove to the carpark at the glacier. The weather wasn’t too flash so we didn’t explore too far.2015-10-27_0018 2015-10-27_0019 2015-10-27_0020 2015-10-27_0021 2015-10-27_0022 2015-10-27_0023 2015-10-27_0024 2015-10-27_0025

All in all a really lovely trip away with my amazing husband. I’m still hoping to get to a tropical island at some stage though!!!!
