My goodness. I can’t believe i haven’t posted this blog yet!!!! Where does time go?
I was called in at the last minute to take over from another photographer who had to pull out of Kelly and Blair’s Rossendale wedding at the last minute. It was such a joy to work with these guys!!!
Kellys Dad owns this amazing Vauxhall. Such a cool car!
I started the day hanging out with the boys. They were looking pretty swish!
After the boys I headed to the girls, where there were smiles galore! Amazing dresses and so much love.
Doesn’t Kelly have the biggest bestest smile?!?!?!
Love the table decorations. Blair is a bit of a fan of Watties tomato sauce, so what better to do than incorporate it into the day 🙂
Rossendale is such a lovely venue. It has a beautiful garden, and the shade under the tree was so welcome on this stunning sunny day!!
After the ceremony we headed across the road where there was this amazing shearing shed…
…and a fabulous row of trees…
…a gorgeous driveway…
…and the most amazing flowering bush. None of it held a candle though to the shine that came from Blair and Kelly. They absolutely glowed with joy!
Blair and Kelly it was so wonderful to work with you. All the best!!!!!
Much love xx

Winter is a quiet time for most photographers, but especially wedding photographers. Its a good time to learn some new skills and practice some techniques. A few months back i met up with my friend Emma of Emma Brittenden Photography. Not only is Emma an AMAZING photographer, she is also a lovely person, and a total character. We had some fun playing with lights in the gathering dusk.
A couple of weeks later, Emma and I met up with Heather and Doug of The Heather and Doug Recordings. These guys are such a talented duo and fabulously lovely and colourful people. We headed to the peacock fountain in the gardens, where Emma played model, Heather played light holder and Doug gave me the run down on how to work with multiple off camera flashes. I definitely wouldn’t say i have it down, but I have a better understanding than i did before at least.
Guys, you are absolute legends and I am so happy to call you friends. Thank you so much! Sending you much love!! xx

Ben is a Kiwi lad, and Beth is an English lass, and they met in New Zealand in 2007. Before Beth headed back home after her visit, Ben and Beth headed to Victoria Park with some Nandos, and shared a meal. Things have developed since then with many more shared meals, and they are set to be married early next year. For their engagement photoshoot they decided to head back to Victoria park. However, Ben got confused and told me to meet at Sign of the Takahe, so we started out there.
After a few photos, we headed up to the original intended destination, Victoria Park. An awesome couple and so much fun. Ben is a self confessed Eeyore, so its probably just as well he has his own personal ray of sunshine in Beth. How amazing is her smile?!?! And her eyes!!! And she managed to coax some smiles out of Ben too 🙂 Ben and Beth, you were fabulous to work with! Looking forward to your wedding next year. Best wishes with the last minute arrangements 🙂

I first met Toby when he was 16 days old, a little over 3 years ago. I absolutely loved catching up with him and meeting his baby sister Isabel, a scrummy 21 days new. Toby is now a cheeky monkey with the most amazing eyes!!! We had fun playing around, on and under the blankets.
Behind the scenes picture, how you keep a three year old entertained while taking photos of their baby sister 🙂

As you may or may not know, I have a brand new house with a brand new studio. Its sooooo exciting and I’m loving learning how to best use the light in this fabulous space 🙂 You will hopefully see a few more studio photos coming up in the near future as I put my studio through its paces!! This was one of the first sessions I did in the studio.
Micah was 3 days new when I first met him. So small and squidgy and sleepy! He was 10 days new when I got to take some newborn photos of him, and was still small and squiggly and sleepy. He brought along his parents and his two year old big brother Isaac to get some photos. Isaac was more interested in the diggers (photo below), but we did manage to coax a couple of grins out of him.
